Why Christ-centric?

Christ is the way.

The Bible, which is incredibly accurate with undisputable evidence, states that Christ is the way. We believe that faithfully following His way of doing everything, including conducting business and daily work, will lead us to make the right decisions, no matter how hard it is.

Today, most businesses, including tech startups, are driven by ambition or profit. Although both are good and necessary to sustain a company in the long run, making them the centre of a business is just like asking fire to be the bad master instead of being a good servant. Many companies become blinded by their idolisation of profit or ambition, leading to their subsequent collapse.

Being Christ-centric is not only because we, the founding team, are Christians, but also because it makes perfect business sense to run a business for long-term sustainability, as a great employer, a responsible social citizen, and a strong, respectable industry player.

Here is the essence of being Christ-centric in pentecode:

Christ-centred leadership and discipleship.

Love God, love other people. The Bible is the source of truth and Jesus is the model of how we should behave in this world.

Humility learns, listens, serves, builds up others, and includes all people.

We acknowledge we are not perfect, and we shouldn’t be prideful, nor put our self-centred interests over others. Humility also means we should not be complacent and should always be learning and open to new ideas. We should not think we are greater than someone because of certain personality traits or beliefs, and we must continue to serve and build up others with the best intentions, not with prideful or spiteful thoughts.

Rejoice always!

We will rejoice and praise God at all times, even when things don’t go our way.

Innovate and be open to new revelations from God.

We believe that God made us creative with a purpose and that, with His blessing, we receive revelations for scientific and technological advancement. We strive to learn, experiment and innovate as much as we can, glorifying and praising Him along the way.

Stewardship of our gifts.

Practise good stewardship for all gifts from God, be it talent, time, or money. Remember that one day we will all be held accountable in front of God. Here in this world, we should not only use self-control to practise good stewardship, but we must also measure what we do so we can be more responsible, accountable, and transparent.

Transparent and truthful in all our ways.

Most of what we do, say, earn, and spend should be available for public inspection if requested. We believe that honesty and openness is the best policy to build trust and that the best way to serve and create value is by innovating, not hiding.

We understand that the aforementioned points can be difficult to fully achieve. We are not quite there yet and most likely we will never be fully there, but we still strive to do the best we can!
